I just want to check the procedure for resetting ME and EGS adaptation using Carsoft. I note that David in Australia has done this. My SLK has got some bad habits no doubt learned from the previous owner and doesn't respond in acceleration and gearchanges at all like my previous SLK did (same model 230 Kompressor).

So I dug around a bit and uncovered this forum post which outlines a process called 'Throttle Body Adaptation Reset'. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I tried it and I swear it's like driving a new car. The throttle response is much quicker, the car revs a little higher before changing up the gears, and it's altogether a lot more fun to drive.

Answer: The scanner should reset the brake service on your car make and model. If it has failed to reset, maybe you’re not following the right procedure. If it’s an electrical brake, make sure to park the car on flat ground and don’t engage the brake. Proceed to release the electronic handbrake and test the brake service. This should work.
